What happened to spontaneity? At what point did you lose the right to do something in your day just because you feel like it at the moment? I have a group of girlfriends who have tried over the past several years to schedule get-togethers such as lunch, a girls night out, a little shopping, or just hang out together so we can reconnect. We pull out our calendars, and inevitably someone has something that prevents us from setting a date. Sometimes it's painful trying to find a date that works for all 4 of us. Recently, we have found that some of our best times together have been when it was spontaneous. It may not always work out, but when it does, the rewards are so great. It's freeing! Because of our routines we sometimes forget that life is an ongoing adventure, just waiting for us to enjoy the ride!

That is so true! With some of my friends I always talk about catching up 'soon' but 'soon' never comes - maybe we should start talking about catching up NOW instead!
ReplyDeleteonlygoodthings.......Amen! I have made it my mission to live a "no regret" life, so I need to make the connections that I want...NOW.
