It's simple and powerful. .... "Treat others as you want to be treated." We've got that by now, right? So, do you treatyourself with the same respect? Sounds pretty simple. We all have fairly good intentions when it comes to taking care of ourselves. We try to eat healthy, try to exercise, and try to give ourselves positive strokes. But unfortunately, we so often listen to the voice in our head that beats us up. Whether you realize it or not, when you stop giving good to yourself, you stop giving good to others. Surrounding ourselves with negative people can be one huge reason we so often feel pessimistic! It's easy to forget how much these people influence our own actions. I guarantee you, these are the people who are draining all of your good energy! Don't let them. And yes, they are most likely the reason you may not be giving the best of yourself to others. We become the people we hang out with. Psychologists have proven that "habitual association" with critical, complaining people can be enough to sabotage all of our opportunities for success. So stop! You owe it to yourself to enjoy all the benefits that positive people can give you. They believe in you! They WILL inspire you!....and they can do so much more for you than you realize. They help you put forth the best of who you are. I promise, life will give you back everything you give to it, so give good! It really is simple and powerful. Please remember, when you make feeling good a priority, you are not the only one who benefits! When you are giving the best of yourself, and it is such a gift.
Hi! I'm Connie. Thank you for visiting my blog. I am using this space to share words of encouragement, lift spirits, inspire others, and share beautiful photography. It is my hope that I can make a difference in the lives of others, by encouraging them to make the most of theirs.
"If you are not spending all of your waking life in discontent, worry, anxiety, depression, despair, or consumed by other negative states; if you are able to enjoy simple things like listening to the sound of the rain or the wind; if you can see the beauty of clouds moving across the sky or be alone at times without feeling lonely or needing the mental stimulus of entertainment; if you find yourself treating a complete stranger with heartfelt kindness without wanting anything from him or her . . . it means that a space has opened up, no matter how briefly, of alive peace, even though it may be subtle. . . . ."
"So when you appreciate something simple - a sound, a sight, a touch - when you see beauty, when you feel loving kindness toward another, sense the inner spaciousness that is the source and background to that experience. . . . ."
