Watch as this forensic artist draws how women see themselves vs. how others see them. It is the sad truth that if we feel we don't live up to what society believes is beautiful, it comes through as a negative self image. Thank you DOVE for conducting this wonderful social experiment, and I hope that more women begin to realize just how beautiful they really are.
Have you heard of The Symphony of Science? It's the work of musician and producer John D. Boswell. His goal is to bring scientific knowledge and philosophy to the public, in a novel way, through music. His goal is to bring meaningful messages to listeners, while simultaneously providing an enjoyable musical experience. I adore the remix video below called Garden of Your Mind, featuring Mister Rogers. Watch and enjoy.

Iam a big fan of StoryCorps. They are an independent nonprofit, whose mission is to provide Americans of all backgrounds and beliefs with the opportunity to record, share, and preserve the stories of their lives. They do this to remind us of our shared humanity, to strengthen and build the connections between people, teach the value of listening, and to weave into the fabric of our culture the understanding that every life matters. At the same time, they create an invaluable archive of American voices and wisdom for future generations.
Listen and watch the animated video below as Joshua Littman, a 12-year old boy with Asperger's syndrome, interviews his mother, Sarah. Joshua's unique questions and Sarah's loving, unguarded answers reveal a beautiful relationship that reminds us of the best--and the most challenging--parts of being a parent.

Can you sit for 2 minutes and do nothing? For those of you who have a bit of the Energizer Bunny in you, this can actually be pretty difficult. This simple video ,Do Nothing for Two Minutes, challenges you to do just that -- do nothing -- and if you touch your mouse or keyboard during the countdown, you're greeted with a "Fail" message.
I came across this video over at The Lettered Cottage, and it made me cry.... happy tears. You will love this video about ordinary people living extraordinary dreams. Enjoy.
"I hope your dreams take you....to the corners of your smiles, to the highest of your hopes, to the windows of your opportunities, and to the most special places your heart has ever known."
The video below was recorded on the Bob & Tom Show when Ingrid Michaelson stopped by to talk about her gigs with The Dave Matthews Band, and to play this special rap remix version of the hit song, which has been featured on Grey's Anatomy & Old Navy ads. But here is the real reason why I am posting this today! You often hear about "karma", serendipity, or things happening that you can't explain, etc., and I apologize if this story is too detailed, but here's what happened yesterday...........
I woke up in the morning, still groggy, eyes closed, with one of Ingrid Michaelson's songs playing over and over in my head. It's called "The Way I Am," and is just a sweet, sweet song. I have no explanation as to why it was in my head because I hadn't heard it in quite some time. Later in the day, I was on my way to the market to shop for dinner that evening, and for some reason, I decided at the last minute to turn a different direction, and shop at a store that I never go to. Once in the store, I ran into a friend whom, once again, I hadn't seen or heard from in quite some time. And by the way, she also told me that she never shops at this store. As we were chatting she happened to mention that she was heading out soon to one of our neighborhood bars to hear this singer by the name of Ingrid Michaelson, who happened to be putting on a free concert in just a few hours. I was completely surprised! I had this song playing in my head all day, and here she was in my neighborhood? Long story short.........I went to see her. Had I not made the decision to shop at a different store, I wouldn't have run into my friend, nor would I have known that Ingrid Michaelson would be performing that night. So needless to say, I ended my day the way it began, listening to the sweet voice of this singer that I had woken up to that very morning. So call it coincidental, just a fluke, karma or whatever you like, but I'll call it completely awesome.
Enjoy!

We are absolutely surrounded by beauty, every single day. Please don't ever take it for granted.
I came across this sweet video clip via VSL (Very Short List), which is a collection of distinct, free, must-see, one gem-a-day e-mails. VSL writes.....watch Danny & Annie, an animated web video about an elderly couple from Brooklyn that will, in five minutes, show you true love (and possibly make you cry).
I am so inspired by this little girl, Jackie. I'm not a big opera fan, but it is hard to believe she is only 10 years old. Her voice is incredibly mature for her age. Not to mention....she is just so adorable! Enjoy!
I couldn't help but share this beautifulad. It's called 'Embrace Life' and it has exploded around the world with its positive message encouraging people to wear their seat belts. Happy Friday! I hope you have a lovely weekend, andplease buckle up.
Hi! I'm Connie. Thank you for visiting my blog. I am using this space to share words of encouragement, lift spirits, inspire others, and share beautiful photography. It is my hope that I can make a difference in the lives of others, by encouraging them to make the most of theirs.
"If you are not spending all of your waking life in discontent, worry, anxiety, depression, despair, or consumed by other negative states; if you are able to enjoy simple things like listening to the sound of the rain or the wind; if you can see the beauty of clouds moving across the sky or be alone at times without feeling lonely or needing the mental stimulus of entertainment; if you find yourself treating a complete stranger with heartfelt kindness without wanting anything from him or her . . . it means that a space has opened up, no matter how briefly, of alive peace, even though it may be subtle. . . . ."
"So when you appreciate something simple - a sound, a sight, a touch - when you see beauty, when you feel loving kindness toward another, sense the inner spaciousness that is the source and background to that experience. . . . ."
